The rise of sovereign AI, why control matters more than ever. Pursuing Sovereign Solutions and market relevance.
What you’ll see in this talk
If you handle sensitive data and worry about who can reach it, this session is for you. Patricia Pozuelo and Benny Fuhry of Intel will walk you through what digital sovereignty really means and how confidential computing protects data while it is being processed. You will see live demos, real deployments and a practical plan to start.
- The four pillars of digital sovereignty (data, technology, assurance and operations) and why losing control of your data means losing your business.
- Confidential computing as the new frontier: keeping data encrypted in memory during processing, not just at rest or in transit.
- How Intel SGX and Intel TDX shrink the trust boundary, plus attestation as cryptographic proof that the protection is actually active.
- Protected AI in three variants (CPU-based, GPU with bounce buffer, and the upcoming Intel TDX Connect) so models and requests stay private wherever they run.
- A live demo where an admin dumps a virtual machine’s memory and finds zeros instead of your prompts, plus open-source tools like Confidential Containers and Trustee to make this usable.

Confidential Computing Architect at Intel Corporation
Benny Fuhry is a Confidential Computing Architect at Intel, where he is part of the team that helps partners and customers adopt confidential computing technologies. He holds a PhD focused on applying Intel SGX to cryptographic problems, work he began as one of the earliest researchers experimenting with SGX during his time in the security research department at SAP.
His area of expertise covers trusted execution environments, VM isolation and technologies such as Intel TDX (Trust Domain Extensions), as well as confidential containers in cloud and Kubernetes environments. He is a regular speaker at events like FOSDEM and OC3, where he shares deep technical material on how confidential computing protects data in use.
