Plain has carried out the project WAVE ENGINE 4.0 NEW INDUSTRY ORIENTED GRAPHIC ENGINE, between 2020 and 2021.
The project has been supported by CDTI EXP 00130670 / IDI-20210140, co-financed by the European Union and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The Wave Engine 4.0 project has had as its main technical objective the design and development of new advanced capabilities on the Wave Engine graphics engine, the company’s flagship product, derived from the launching of new graphics technologies in the market and new development standards, as well as from the needs detected in the market.
The process
Research of the new graphic APIs in the market and design and development of the necessary components to integrate them in our graphic engine, in order to improve the performance in the development of applications.
Research of the new web standards, and design and development of the necessary components that allow the development of executable applications directly on browsers with the graphic engine.
Research and development of new graphic assets that allow the construction of more realistic and detailed models with maximum performance.
Research of new mixed reality technologies and standards, and design and development of a set of components to support them.
Research of the new .NET 5 standard and design and development of the execution layer under this technology.
Research and development of new tools to optimize work with the graphics engine.
Results
- The developments obtained have had an impact on all layers of the graphics engine and have meant a significant technological leap with respect to the current state of the art, which has allowed the company to continue as a benchmark.
