South Summit 2022 arrives to reunite the best startups

One more year, and this time with a more special edition than ever, the South Summit, the largest annual event on entrepreneurship in southern Europe, is back.

Remaining the meeting point for entrepreneurs and investors and recovering its face-to-face character, there is already a date for 2022, and we have all the details. We’ll tell you all about it!

What is South Summit?

The South Summit is the year’s event that brings together startups, entrepreneurs, investors, and corporations globally.

South Summit Madrid was born in 2012 as Spain Startup to boost the economy through innovation and entrepreneurship. Years later, it has become a solid ecosystem and reference for companies worldwide.

The most relevant example is the participation figures of last year’s edition, which brought together:

• More than 22,000 physical and virtual attendees
• 600 investors
• More than 8,000 startups
• 680 speakers
• 7,000 corporate members

South Summit 2022

2022 is the anniversary of this event, and to celebrate it, they are preparing the best edition to date. It will be held on June 8, 9, and 10 at La Nave in the Spanish capital (Calle Cifuentes, 5, Madrid) and will be in a hybrid format, so people who do not attend in person will be able to do it from anywhere online.

As every year, it will connect the leading players in this ecosystem to find business opportunities and meet new talent. All without leaving the venue.

Under the slogan ‘Decoding Complexity,’ this edition invites participants to simplify the complexity of an increasingly interconnected and fast-paced world. Therefore, sustainable and inclusive products and services that help us navigate this complexity will have a more significant presence.

You have a choice of three types of tickets that are already on sale:

• Executive: the most complete and with VIP access to all activities for 1,099€.
• Business: with access to almost all services for 699€.
• Attendee: standard access to the fair and the most important activities by 119€.

South Summit 2022 Fair

To choose the startups that will be present at the event, the Startup Competition has been opened, from which the 100 most disruptive startups in the world will be chosen. A committee of renowned investors and innovation experts will carry out the careful selection process: they will have to choose from 3,800 candidates.

Seventy-five percent are of international origin, with more than 124 countries, including Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Germany, India, France, Argentina, and Mexico.

To make the final selection of the best and most promising ones, they value aspects such as innovation, viability, scalability, team, and interest for potential investors are taken into account.

At Plain Concepts, we did not want to miss the event, so we will be there and in a special way, as we will be part of this year’s jury. In addition, our colleague Joan Sintes, International Sales Director, will be one of the speakers at the event with his talk “Deep Tech enabling decision making.”
