Plain Concepts at Agent Conf 2026

Warsaw brought software development professionals together for an event focused on AI agents. Organised by Callstack, Agent Conf 2026 dedicated two days to tools and experiences in building applications with agents.

Plain Concepts was there too, with several of our colleagues travelling to the event. Here are the highlights!

    Agent Conf 2026

Agent Conf 2026 took place on 17 and 18 September at the Crowne Plaza Warsaw The HUB in the Polish capital. The event brought together 500 professionals from different areas of software development.

OpenAI, Meta, Amazon and eBay among the companies represented

The event featured professionals from OpenAI, Meta, Amazon, Grafana Labs and eBay, as well as Postman and Expo, according to the affiliations listed in the official agenda. Through their speakers, these companies brought experience in development, infrastructure and AI applications to the same programme.

OpenAI and Meta were represented in sessions on operating and managing agents at scale; Amazon on agent coordination; and Grafana Labs and eBay on observability and monitoring. Postman and Expo contributed perspectives on AI interfaces and developer tools.

The programme combined technical sessions and use cases with networking opportunities. In its posts after the event, the organiser highlighted the conversations and exchange of experiences among attendees.

    Day 1 recap

The first day explored development with agents, specialised models and developer tools.

Opening keynote and development with agents

Callstack’s Mike Grabowski and Michał Pierzchała delivered the opening keynote on the first day. The agenda included sessions on software development with agents, developer tools and adoption experiences.

Nick Miller’s talk focused on building a software factory with Cursor, xAI and Grok Bot. In the first-day recap, participants highlighted his examples of task automation beyond coding.

    Specification-driven development

Allegro shared its experience with a specification-driven software factory, while Open Mercato explored development with agents at scale. Both sessions offered further perspectives on how teams can organise these processes.

    Apex and specialised models

Callstack introduced Apex, its specialised React Native model, at the event. In the recap discussion, the team used this example to explore how to choose models based on quality, speed and cost.

The technical session on Apex examined the impact of quantisation on model performance. In the recap, participants also discussed choosing models according to the task and response time.

    Agent coordination and connected tools

Anisha Malde and Kourtney Meiss explored agent coordination in their session on harnesses, the environments that organise agent execution. Callstack’s recap highlights the practical nature of the talk and the configuration of these tools.

Kent C. Dodds presented Kody, his personal software ecosystem. According to Callstack’s recap description, it is based on MCP and designed to carry tools, secrets and workflows across different AI environments.

    Tools for developers and agents

Expo focused on designing development tools that AI agents can also use. Meanwhile, the session from a Vercel professional presented the creation of an agent with Eve, an open framework.

The programme also included a ČSOB session on creating a searchable memory of database records using agents, and another featuring AT&T on learning during inference.

    Testing with agents

Reliability also came up in the recap. In that discussion, the Callstack team described agent-device as an example of exploring applications with agents and recording journeys for later replay in tests.

    Day 2 recap

The second day focused on observability, systems at scale and the future of applications.

    Observability and monitoring

On the second day, professionals from Grafana Labs explored agent observability. Speakers from eBay shared their experience with agentic monitoring and alert investigation, according to the organiser’s summary.

For eBay, the organiser highlighted a reduction in alert validation time from 20–30 minutes to less than five. Grafana Labs explored how to observe agents’ performance, behaviour, cost and security.

Systems at scale and new interfaces

Contributions from OpenAI and Meta professionals brought the challenges of running agent-powered software factories on Kubernetes and managing thousands of agents to the event. The future of applications and AI interfaces was also discussed, with a Postman session dedicated to the latter.

    The Snappi case study

The programme also featured Natech’s experience with Snappi. The session explored how engineering with agents contributed to developing a neobank in less than a year, extending the event’s use cases to the banking sector.

    Controlling agent behaviour

The second day made room for determinism, with David Khourshid’s session, and for AI research as a distributed systems problem. It also included a talk by Viktor on the adjustments used to compensate for model limitations and when to review or remove them after an update.

    The future of applications

The sessions The End of Apps and Designing for Growing Intelligence added to the discussion on interfaces. These topics broadened the conversation about how to design applications as AI capabilities evolve.

The programme concluded with a panel on the future of software development, featuring professionals from Amazon, OpenAI and Callstack, among other companies, according to the agenda and the organiser’s review.

With sessions on specialised models, agent coordination and monitoring, Agent Conf 2026 brought together different perspectives on software development with AI. Plain Concepts was part of this gathering of the technology community. See you at the next event!
